How SlotCodex works

Where the data comes from

The SlotCodex catalog currently tracks 34,882 games from 741 providers. Core game records (name, provider, type, reels, paylines, release data) are ingested from an industry game feed and stored as dated snapshots, so figures on the site reflect a concrete, reproducible state of the database rather than hand-edited numbers.

• RTP and volatility are enriched from independent published sources — including Slot data by slot.report. A game earns the “Cross-checked” badge only when a figure is matched across two or more published sources; other figures are shown as reported, without the badge.
• Aggregates (catalog medians, RTP distributions, max-win histograms) are computed live from the database on every request — they are never typed in by hand and always reflect the current catalog.
• Sauron catalog enrichment is a separately labelled daily source layer for exact provider-and-game identities. It can add categories, features, themes, platform coverage, restrictions and provider capabilities without overwriting the canonical catalog. Suspicious source games and ambiguous local matches are excluded. Sauron RTP remains a source observation and does not earn the SlotCodex “Cross-checked” badge by itself.
• Known feed quirks are filtered, not hidden: for example, provider-reported max-win values that are clearly currency-denominated outliers are excluded from multiples statistics, and the exclusion rule is documented in code.

Editorial process

Encyclopedia articles are produced by SlotCodex Editorial — our in-house editorial function. Drafts are prepared with internal tooling against the catalog database and public primary sources, then checked before publication:

• Definitions and article math (house edges, expected-value examples, probability tables) are verified against the standard published game mathematics.
• Regulatory and compliance facts are checked against the primary regulatory documents (e.g. UKGC rules and licence conditions, MGA and Curaçao licensing frameworks) and public technical standards such as GLI testing standards.
• Articles carry live data blocks fed by the catalog database, so the figures inside an article stay current automatically.
• An article is opened to search indexing only after an explicit editorial approval. Articles still in that process are publicly readable but marked “In review” and kept out of sitemaps and the search index.

SlotCodex does not publish fictional author personas, and we never attribute reviews to people who did not perform them. Attribution is to SlotCodex Editorial as an organization; named reviewer credits appear only when a real, named person has reviewed an article.

Updates

Every encyclopedia article shows its last-updated date, and the same date is exposed to search engines as dateModified in the article’s structured data. Catalog data blocks refresh from the database on every page load; the game feed is re-ingested on a regular cadence, and editorial text is revised whenever rules, regulation or the underlying data change.

What we are not

SlotCodex is not a casino and does not offer real-money play. We do not publish casino offers, bonus codes or affiliate calls-to-action in encyclopedia content, and bonus-related articles are written from a consumer-math perspective. All content is intended for readers 18 and older. Play responsibly.

Corrections & feedback
